About me
I’m a California native with a background in linguistics who has lived in Greece since 2015.
Before moving here, I spent time living in and traveling through several different countries, including South Korea, Russia and Germany. I’ve always been drawn to languages, history and entering environments that force you to be a little bit uncomfortable.
A lot of my life has been shaped by curiosity and movement. I love solo travel and spent much of my youth wandering around South East Asia and Europe. Greece ended up becoming home accidentally when my passport was stolen and I couldn’t catch my flight out. Over time I built a life here between two languages and cultures that often see the world from two completely opposite points of view.
Outside of work, I spend as much time outside as possible, usually hiking around Athens or on trips to my husband’s village in Mani whenever my schedule allows. Many of the ideas I eventually write about come to my mind while I’m outside and exercising, so I always make sure to keep the notes app on my phone open.
I think of myself as someone trying to decode people through language, history and philosophy.
And now we know.
